Dance Utah presents Workshop Weekend with Stephanie Batista Feb. 25th and 26th 2011
Stephanie Batista has been Swing dancing since 1998 and has been teaching all over since 2003.
At 17 years old she was introduced to West Coast Swing, through a friend of a friend. The obsession began! She was immedietly thrust into the competition circuit, traveling all over the country and training with the best of the best. Her heart was in Jack and Jill dancing- A form of competition dancing in which the choreography is entirely improvised and partnerships are random. She perfected her technique, musical interpretation, and partnership skills. In 2006 she took 2nd in the Champion of Champions Division at the Phoenix 4th of July event (the most prestigious Jack and Jill in the country) with partner Arjay Centeno. After taking maternity leave in 2008 she WON the same division with partner John Lindo!
Stephanie travels extensivly, teaching others the skills and insights she has inquired in her over 10 years of experience. We are excited to have her out to Utah for 4 Great Workshops, private lessons, and 2 Great nights of dancing!
