Workshop

We have taken your input to provide classes of local interest. Joy has combined 4 of her favorite workshops into two, 1-hour 15 min sessions for us!

Hold Me Closer: Follows: Has anyone ever told you that you need to wait for your leader, but you wondered what to wait for? Leads: Have you ever had a follow do something different than you thought you had lead? If you answered yes to either, or both, of these questions, take this class. (Combo of Class 1 and Class 6 from the original list)

Harlem Nocturne: Embrace the spirit of blues danced in the ballrooms of 1930's Harlem as we explore the jazz steps of that era within the blues aesthetic. (Combo of Class 3 and Class 7 from original list)

Dance Til Late... Early?.. Late? Whatever!

That's right! We are pulling out all the stops in the middle of the week.

Dance till 2am, till your feet bleed or till you need to go catch Perry Mason with Grandma before she goes to bed.

Competition

We have a streamlined competition so you can test out your dance skills without loosing a lot of social dance time. However, the prizes are UNREAL for a quick competition on a weeknight.

Prizes include CASH and your choice of several event passes. There are some great options for both Westies and Lindy Hoppers alike, too.

Private / Mini-Private

Special opportunity! Have you ever thought about taking a private lesson, but not in your budget? Get good advice for the right price. Joy will spend 5-Min. with you during the dance to give you helpful feedback to make your blues dancing even better.

JOY ARICO

Watching Joy Arico dance is like seeing music out on the floor. Joy dances like she has a gallon of moxy in her quart sized container and she knows just how to serve it.

In 25 years of dancing Joy has loved cheerleading, West Coast Swing, Country Two-Step, Lindy Hop, as well as Balboa and Blues. Her exuberant love of dance is matched only by her attentiveness to technique and detail. Her number one goal in teaching is to share the LOVE of dance. Music should be the ultimate driving force of dance and she is focused on sharing ways to enhance the natural body response to music.
