Hello fellow dancers, Dance here in Utah has been really growing over the past year. I have loved seeing the growth that has happened and want to thank everyone who have put a lot of time into promoting dance here in Utah. When I moved here five years ago from AZ, I wanted to do something to help grow the dance community here in Utah. In 2006, I brought out Stephanie Batista to teach workshops, and had a really good response. I realized then, that I had as much of a passion for event directing, as I did for the dance. However, after the event, I needed to take some time off, to have my last child and continue when the time was right. I am glad that over the past year and a half I have been able to donate more time to the community. These events were started for many reasons.... this way we don't have to travel to them, they come to us. It is a great way to grow more WCS dancers here in Utah, which makes fabulous social dancing every weekend in our own state. It has also been a way for those who may not know about WCS, to see what this dance craze is all about! But most importantly, I am attempting to grow the community here with workshop weekends with pros who care about the dance, care about the people, and are willing to social dance. I want to Thank Wendy Miller for coming here March 19-20th 2010, she really connected with our community and helped people to really "get it". We also loved having her husband Scott Miller here, he was an awesome D.J. and another great dancer to have to dance with all of the ladies. I would love to hear anyones input on what they would be looking for in the workshop weekends. How often you would like to have them, who would you like to see come, where would you like to have them etc. But, a huge way that everyone can help in growing the dance community, and making these successful is by telling all of your friends. There is an event page on Facebook that you can join..... Utah WCS event promoter. I want to thank everyone for there support and all of the venue owners and promoters that help in making these possible!
